を marks the direct object of transitive verbs like 飲みます.

  • わたしは毎朝コーヒーを飲みます。

    I drink coffee every morning.

何を食べますか / どこで

何を食べますか 'What do you eat?' どこで 'where' takes で for action location.

  • 昼ご飯をどこで食べますか。

    Where … you eat lunch?

N で Vます

で marks the location where an action takes place.

  • わたしは図書館で本を読みます。

    I read books … the library.

何を 飲みますか

何を飲みますか 'What do you drink?' を for the object.

  • 何を飲みますか。——ジュースを飲みます。

    What … you drink?

N で 買います

で marks where you buy something: 買います.

  • わたしはデパートで靴を買います。

    I buy shoes … the department store.

写真を撮ります / ～ませんか

写真を撮ります 'take a photo'. ～ませんか invitation.

  • 一緒に写真を撮りませんか。

    Won't you take a photo … me?

N を 聞きます

音楽を聞きます 'listen to music'. を for object.

  • わたしは毎晩音楽を聞きます。

    I listen to music every night.

どこで / 手紙を書きます

どこで 'where' + action. 手紙を書きます 'write a letter'.

  • 田中さんはどこで手紙を書きますか。

    Where … Mr. Tanaka write letters?

人に会います

人に会います 'meet a person'. に marks the person met.

  • わたしは友達に会います。

    I meet … a friend.

何を食べますか

何を食べますか 'What do you eat?' 朝ご飯 = breakfast.

  • 朝ご飯は何を食べますか。

    What … you eat for breakfast?

喫茶店で

喫茶店で = 'at a coffee shop'. で for location of action.

  • わたしは喫茶店でコーヒーを飲みます。

    I drink coffee … a coffee shop.

何をしますか

何をしますか 'What do you do?' します is a general verb.

  • 日曜日は何をしますか。

    What … you do on Sunday?

レストランで 食べます

レストランで = 'at a restaurant'. 晩ご飯を食べます.

  • わたしはレストランで晩ご飯を食べます。

    I eat dinner … a restaurant.

新聞を読みます

新聞を読みます 'read a newspaper'.

  • ミラーさんは毎朝新聞を読みます。

    Mr. Miller reads the newspaper every morning.

だれに 会いますか

だれに会いますか 'Who do you meet?' に marks the person.

  • だれに会いますか。——友達に会います。

    … do you meet?

家で 宿題をします

家で = 'at home'. 宿題をします 'do homework'.

  • わたしは家で宿題をします。

    I do homework … home.

～時に

7時に = 'at 7 o'clock'. Time with に.

  • わたしは7時に大学へ行きます。

    I go to university … 7 o'clock.

映画を 見ます / ～ませんか

映画を見ます 'watch a movie'. ～ませんか invitation.

  • 映画を見ませんか。

    Won't you watch a movie … me?

公園で 散歩します

公園で = 'at the park'. 友達と = 'with a friend'. 散歩します 'take a walk'.

  • わたしは公園で友達と散歩します。

    I take a walk … the park with a friend.

日記を 書きます

日記を書きます 'write a diary'.

  • わたしは毎晩日記を書きます。

    I write a diary every night.
